Bill Gaither has found himself in a
most unusual position-on the pages of one of America’s
hippest, most renowned publications, Rolling Stone
Magazine. The gospel music patriarch, Grammy and Dove
winner was listed on the magazine’s list of Top 50
Grossing Concerts for 2003, right between the Grateful
Dead and the Osbornes! The Gaither and Friends Tour
placed #46 on the list, and Rolling Stone had this
to say: “At 68-years old, Gaither has been a powerhouse
in the gospel world for more than 30 years. His Gaithers
and Friends Tour did a healthy $13 million in ticket
sales last year in the U.S.” On the current issue
of Rolling Stone magazine (3/18/04 edition), the cover
reads 'Third Annual Richest Rock Star List'
Gaither Audio Scans: The week of 3/7/04, 55%
of Gaither retail scans came from the General Market.
The Gaither Vocal Band and Lynda Randle have been
asked to appear at the upcoming Billy Graham Crusade
in Kansas City, MO on 6/20/04.
